Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing debuts at Surtex ’08
Works from eight artists promise to add a splash of color to licensing show
NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS — When visitors walk by the Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing booth at the annual Surtex trade show for licensing art and design in New York City this May, they will have no choice but to stop and look at the walls that will be filled with mesmerizing color and bold designs.
Featuring artwork by eight of the nation’s most talented and creative minds, Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing will offer one-stop-shopping for companies looking for colorful artwork that’s fresh and new.
“I have brought together this group of artists for the Surtex show whose work compliments one another perfectly,” says Linda Calvert Jacobson, owner of Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing and an artist herself. “Whether clients are looking for abstract realism or contemporary expressionism, sophisticated whimsy or interpretive photography, we have plenty to choose from.”
Surtex, scheduled for May 18-20, 2008, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York City, attracts more than 6,000 attendees representing markets ranging from home furnishings to paper products. This will be Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing’s first time to exhibit at Surtex and the first time for most of the artists represented as well. The eight featured artists are:
• Sharon Neuhaus, well-known for her playful, witty and sophisticated whimsy is ready to expand her licensing program for “Poultry in Motion,” a colorful parade of roosters.
• Linda Calvert Jacobson, a Texas artist whose series of contemporary wildflower paintings are creating a stir internationally with licensing deals already formed in the UK, New Zealand and Australia.
• Myra Knapp, an oil painter whose luminous “First Light” paintings of forest scenes and series of thunderous cloudscapes, entitled “Volumes,” are highly collected and now available for licensing.
• Mary Shepard, a watercolorist with an eye for details as is evident in her nostalgic and colorful series of antique pick-up trucks and cars.
• Bill Brockmeier, a panoramic photographer who can capture a 360-degree view and turn the familiar into something extraordinary.
• Karen Gillis Taylor, a painter who has found a way to interpret wonder and romance on canvas through her colorful “ShimmerTown” series of cities at night.
• Kandyce Waltensperger, an artist dividing her time between South Texas and Northern Mexico and whose paintings of Mexican dolls, or “Muñecas,” are inspired by the colors and traditions of the Mexican culture.
• Imogene Luhrman, whose emotionally exciting watercolor acrylic paintings pulsate with colors and shapes.
In addition to samples of work on exhibit, brochures from all eight of the artists will be distributed from the Casa de Linda Fine Art Licensing booth (#2531, Hall 1 E) during the show. Potential clients may contact any of the individual artists for more information about their work.
